Visit to the Pumpkin Patch

This year we went to the pumpkin patch with lots of friends!  There were three other couples that each had a child.  So Colby got to play with Gavin, Adam, and Jillian all at the same time!  The kids headed right for the play area and were having a blast.  Unfortunately, we got a ton of rain the day before so there was all kinds of mud!  Luckily none of the kids got too messy!  The pumpkin patch has lots to do so the kids played for a bit and then the grown-ups ate some food and we all headed over to check out the animals.  One of the owners was near the animals so she took out the bunny and one of the baby ducks for the kids to see.  She even picked up some of the turkeys!  Colby’s favorite was the goat – she could see him eating and thought his long tongue was hilarious.  The little piggies were my favorite – they were just too cute!!  After visiting with the animals we went for a hayride out to the pumpkins and sunflower field.  The sunflower fields were too muddy to venture out in but we were able to pick out some good pumpkins!  I found a really neat green/blue pumpkin, Colby got an itty bitty pumpkin, and then we all got a big “family” pumpkin for carving.  Once everyone found the perfect pumpkins we headed back on the hay ride.  Then the kids got their faces painted and Colby was a kitty.  She sat so still and could barely tear herself away from the mirror after she was all done!  Then the kids did some dancing and snacked and it was time to head home!  It was a great day with great friends!!
