Colby had her school Christmas Party this past week and Mike was able to be there while she made cookies with all of the kids! They made them into reindeer faces and they each got to make their own! Mike and I were both able to attend the book exchange later in the afternoon! When we got there the kids were still asleep on their cots and it was fun to see all of their sleepy faces while they were waking up! I think Colby thought she was still dreaming when she saw Mommy and Daddy! She was drowsy for quite some time! Once all of the kids were up it was snack time! Snack was supposed to be the cookies they made earlier in the day but the lady that helped cook them actually burnt them! Ms. Meghan said next time they do any baking she will have to supervise first hand! But the kids all got a Christmas tree cake and they all gobbled them down and didn’t give a second thought to the lost cookies! Then they all did a dance to the Fraggle Rock CD and it was time for the book exchange! All of the kids sat in a circle on the “Reading Rug” and passed their gift to the left. It was so cute to see each of them trying to unwrap the gifts! Some of them ripped through the wrapping paper and some struggled through piece by piece but they all had a blast and all of them were super engrossed in their books! Colby got a very fun Little People flap book! She kept telling me to “be quiet, and listen to the book!” So I sat there very meekly while she flipped the pages! Ms. Meghan read quite a few of the books and the kids loved them all! After that Colby gave Ms. Meghan her Christmas gift and some lovin’! It was very special for Mike and I to be able to join in Colby’s school time – we had almost as much fun as the kids did!!
