After dinner tonight we took Colby to the beach at Yorktown. She was so excited to go that she said no to dessert! Once we got there, Colby headed straight for the water with her bucket and shovels! She played in the water for the longest time, then Mommy spotted a crab so she and Daddy came over to play with it and the crab would scurry off and bury itself then Daddy would dig him back up for Colby and it would scurry off again! Colby thought that was so funny! Then Daddy spotted some tiny shrimp and a few minnows! The shrimp were way too fast to catch but Mommy scooped up a minnow in the bucket! The first minnow we caught was very jumpy! He jumped out of the bucket on the beach but Mommy put him back in and when Colby was holding the bucket he jumped out and landed on her hand! That freaked her out a little bit - she ditched the bucket and started flinging her hand around like crazy. After that she wasn't too interested in the second minnow Mommy caught! It was a great time to go because the sun was starting to set and it made for some very pretty pictures! Colby looks so grown up in some of the pictures which always amazes me! I still think of her as being a baby! On the walk back we saw a baby bunny, a huge yellow butterfly, and two wild turkeys! It was quite an adventure! Y

On the ride home we asked Colby if she had fun at the beach and she said "Yes, Cubby Beach." So now that beach will always be Colby Beach to us!
