Pumpkin Patch
We recently took Colby to a great pumpkin patch up in Gloucester! She really seemed to enjoy it this year! Last year I don’t think she knew what was going on. They had a great big playground for the kids and some pumpkin cutouts that kids could throw balls through, like beanbags. That was Colby’s favorite! She would throw the balls through the cutouts and get excited when they would come flying back out for her to throw again! Gavin and his parents came with us and he played on the bigger playground and kept an eye on her through some of the tunnels and the tires. She liked the hay that was scattered around too! The pumpkin patch had some animals too – goats, pigs, a cow, turkeys, a pony, and some little chicks! The chicks were Colby’s favorite by far! The pen was just her height and she kept pointing and “hugging” the pen! Gavin got to go on the pony ride but Mommy and Daddy figured Colby was still a little too tiny to try that. She had a fun time watching Gavin ride around though! Then we went on a hay ride over the field of pumpkins and Colby got to pick out her very own pumpkin! She was tapping almost every pumpkin trying to find just the right one! After we picked out our pumpkins, we went and had a snack of pumpkin roll and apple cider, which Colby thoroughly enjoyed! Finally Colby got a ladybug and a pumpkin painted on her hands which she thought was just the coolest and then she played with her pumpkin cutout a little more and then it was time to head home! Our trip was a great prelude to fall and Halloween! Y
