Mike’s schedule changed at the most opportune time and he ended up having all of Labor Day weekend and then some off! We started off the weekend Friday evening with a cookout with some friends and their son, Adam, who is right around Colby’s age. The kids had a blast playing outside while the food was cooking! They played with chalk, the sandbox, and the Power Wheels! It was so cute to see them interacting! I think both of them slept really well that night!
We also took Colby to Jamestown over the weekend mostly to see the ships. She loved the Native American wigwams on the way to the ship and went in quite a few and had to pet the “deer.” The wigwams were full of animal pelts and luckily they didn’t freak her out, she just said, “they are so soft – like Bubs.” It was really cute. She absolutely adored the boats and thought she was just the coolest thing ever walking around on them. They did lead to a little fussing because the steps were very steep and we let her go up them on her own but Daddy carried her down and she was very put out by this “babying.”
Now that the weather is more agreeable, we went for a few bike rides too! After Jamestown we went for a ride and poor little Colby was so wiped out that she fell asleep on the back of Mike’s bike! She was sleeping good too because on the way home Mike’s back tire blew out and it literally sounded like a gunshot and she didn’t budge!
We celebrated Mimi’s birthday over the weekend as well! Mimi and Papa came over and Colby gave Mimi her gift and lots of loving! Of course, Colby had to try on Mimi’s new necklace but she gave it back at the end of the visit! Happy Birthday Mimi!
